Privacy Policy

How Sentella handles your data. Last updated: July 15, 2026.

Sentella is a phone‑answering assistant with built‑in scam protection, designed to make daily life easier and to protect people — especially older adults and vulnerable people — from fraud and unwanted calls. This Policy explains, in plain language, what data we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights. It supplements our Terms of Service.

Data controller: Aliceworks, Inc. (“Sentella”, “we”, “us”). Privacy contact: [email protected].

We don’t collect card data: payments, where offered, are processed by a payment provider; we only receive confirmation.

2. How we use it

Any risk classification is assistance and may be wrong. It never replaces your judgment or an authority.

3. Who we share with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it with service providers that help us run the service, under contract and only for the purposes above:

SMS privacy: mobile information, text-messaging opt-in data, and consent are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. They may be provided only to messaging aggregators and service providers that are necessary to deliver the text-message program and comply with law.

4. Recording and people who call you

When the assistant answers, the caller is told at the start of the call that they are speaking with an assistant and that the conversation may be recorded and analyzed. Audio and transcripts may be processed by the providers above for call handling, message‑taking, fraud detection, summaries, and support. You must use the service only on a line you control, and you may not use it to record, monitor, deceive, or impersonate others without authorization. Call‑recording laws vary by state; the start‑of‑call notice is designed to keep the service transparent to all parties.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active and for as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy. After closure, data subject to legal duties, fraud prevention, or retention periods may be kept for the required time and then deleted or anonymized. You can request deletion of your account and data in the app’s Settings or by email.

6. Your rights

You can, at any time: access your data; correct inaccurate or outdated data; request deletion; request a copy (portability); learn who we share with; and withdraw consent. Use the app’s Settings or email [email protected]. We respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

7. California residents

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access and deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, email [email protected].

8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data (access control, encryption in transit, isolation, and monitoring). No system is 100% secure; in the event of a material incident, we will act as required by law and notify you where required.

9. Older adults, minors, and vulnerable people

Sentella is intended for adults. A protected person (for example, an older adult) can only be managed by a plan holder after that person consents on their own device. We handle their data with heightened care. If a minor is included, consent must be provided by the person with legal responsibility. The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Emergencies

The help button (SOS) is not a replacement for 911 or any official emergency service. If there is immediate danger, call the official emergency number directly.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be communicated in the app or on the website, with a new effective date. Questions, requests, or complaints: [email protected].
